Google sheets integration causes form submission to take 6 minutes
-
Hello,
adding google sheets integration causes form submission to go from taking a few seconds to taking up to six minutes. I previously made a topic about this https://wordpress.org/support/topic/google-sheets-integration-causes-form-submission-to-take-2-minutes/ and thought the issue was resolved by adding ram and vcores to my VPS, however the problem has returned. The problem occurs even with a very simple form with one field that I created as a test case. I’ve tried disabling all other plugins, examined the output of Query Monitor, chrome devtools (screenshot here https://imgur.com/mmJehmw), and the php-fpm slow log, but haven’t managed to track down the problem. I have noticed the message “The scheduled event, forminator_send_export, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.” in the site health dashboard. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi @matt9328,
Sorry to hear about the issues noticed. I gave a quick test to see whether I could replicate it or not, but it works instantly when tested.
Could we know the current version of WP you are running on? Is it the latest version? Could we know whether the issue is specific to one website, or are you able to replicate this on every website tested?
If possible, please go to WordPress > Tools > Site Heath > info, copy the site info, and share it in the next reply.
I’ve tried disabling all other plugins, examined the output of Query Monitor,
Was this also tested with a default WordPress? or only with all plugins deactivated?
chrome devtools (screenshot here https://imgur.com/mmJehmw), and the php-fpm slow log
Unfortunately, the screenshot doesn’t give much clue other than admin-ajax.php taking time.
Maybe you could try enabling debug log and see whether it gives more clues regarding the issues.
You can find more details about enabling debug mode here:
Once the debug mode is enabled, please try replicating the issue and check whether the logs provide any further clues.
Please do let us know how that goes.
Kind Regards,
NithinHi,
thanks for your reply. I’m running WordPress 6.0.2. I only have one site to test this on. I tried the troubleshooting mode provided by the plugin you suggested, and had the same problem. There’s nothing in the WP debug log. The problem is intermittent so I understand it will be difficult to debug, so any advice would be appreciated, particularly places where I could insert execution time clocks in the plugin code

Hi @matt9328
Thank you, I see your max execution time is low, so you added more memory to the server but PHP and WP still limiting the usage, also WordPress’s memory limit is still 40M.
Can you please increase your max execution time to 300, and WordPress memory limit to 128 as you are using 256M in PHP, or increase the PHP to 512M and WP to 256M.
I would suggest increasing the max input time to 120 too.

Let us know if this made any difference.
Best Regards
Patrick FreitasHello @matt9328 ,
