    Hi!

I have searched the forum and on Google – however could not find a solution to this problem?

I have set up the meta tags correctly with Yoast SEO on the pages for citymaid.no – and some pages show the correct meta tags others do not – like this page: https://citymaid.no/kontakt-oss/vaskehjelp-flyttevask-oslo/. In Google search results, the page shows the og:description and not the set meta tag from Yoast SEO.

Any tip why this is? Thanks for any help in this matter 🙂

  • Hi,

I’m presuming your ‘Update’ worked and you double checked that your meta was updated.

If yes then have you cleared your cache before using the search engine ?

The meta tags are output correctly on the example page you provided. Google’s cache of your site confirms they are receiving a meta description and a different og:description.

Ultimately Google will, as you have seen, make the final decision on what they show in their search results. Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display the meta description. The best advice I can provide, unfortunately, is to try a different description. This article provides advice on creating the right description for your site.
