We filled out the form on this page:

Here's an example page w/ Rich Snippets from you plugin:

    Google's email response:
"Thank you for your interest in rich snippets for your site. Unfortunately, Google can’t display rich snippets for your site shoeporn.com because of the following issue:

Your marked-up review uses “count” instead of “votes”. “count” specifies the total number of reviews for an item. “votes” specifies the number of people who provided a rating, with or without an accompanying review. A site can specify count or votes, or both.

For detailed information on how to markup aggregate reviews correctly, please visit:

Once you’ve fixed your markup, run your pages through the rich snippets testing tool <http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets> to check for errors. When you’re all set, use the rich snippets submission form to re-sumbit your application. <http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/request.py?contact_type=rich_snippets_feedback> to resubmit your site."

    Hello there again.

Well, we agree with Google on usage of count and vote. And our intention behind using "count" is exactly what they have mentioned.

i.e. The total number of reviews for the item on your site.

We have provided your website visitors a facility where they can give ratings for the product and hence we think usage of "count" gets justified.

Still, I see the member of Google team who reviewed your MarkUp data finds this in a way that - people are giving "votes" on your website for your "Review". He is thinking your visitors who are providing ratings - may or may not be agreeing / accompanying with your product review.

I wish, Schema.org could have made this simpler than confusing as it is now.

Anyhow - here is a difference in SERP when you use Votes & Count

    With Votes - http://goo.gl/PqObmI
    With Count - http://goo.gl/rGKLfc

We will study this issue in more details ASAP and may release an update that might replace "Count" by "Votes"

    Hi Sujay,

Thanks for the reply, I think I understand what you're saying. It is confusing, as far as trying to implement Google's requirements properly.

We definitely gave Google our exact URL and told them we were implementing the "Products" type, so I'm assuming an update to the WP plugin is necessary to please Google.
