    Hi there,

Great plugin, very easy to use. However, I have analysed my site and it says that images are not optimized for some reason.

Also, on Googles page speed insights it suggests that I optimise the images on my site (lists them all). Perhaps the images haven’t optimised correctly?

Hope it can be resolved, as I paid for extra images.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
thanks for your message and kind words πŸ™‚

Usually the problem described by you isn’t related to images not being optimized but to the images not being the right side for the place holder.

Could you please contact us directly here
    http://shortpixel.com/contact
with your API Key and site name so we can investigate and tell you what’s wrong?

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you,
    Alex

    Hi,

same to me. After applying lossy optimization (lossless is much worse) PageSpeed say the same (that’s the 3rd plugin I try with no better results).

I believe its a plugin issue, the optimization is not enough for Google PageSpeed standarts.

Same here, despite ShortPixel optimising them, all images are still quoted as being too big, one infact says that it could have a 98% reduction in size!!

ShortPixel, I appreciate that you want to inspect individual cases, but please stop responding and asking people to use your Contact Form – deal with issues here so that others can find a simple solution too.

    Hi,
    thanks for your message πŸ™‚

I already explained what is the likely cause for this message from Google: “Usually the problem described by you isn’t related to images not being optimized but to the images not being the right size for the place holder.”.

If you want us to look at your specific case please let me know your site’s URL.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you,

    Hi @shortpixel,

could you please tell us a way to deliver different sized images in mobile view to avoid this problem?

    Thanks,

    Hello again! πŸ™‚

Generally I would say that you need to have:
    1) a recent WP version that can handle srcset
    2) a responsive theme with many/enough thumb definitions that can be served in the right context
    3) you also need that for each featured image to have those thumbs (for all the different sizes) so they can be properly served in the right context.

    Best regards,
    Alex

    Hi,

    thanks for the answer.

    Best regards,

    Hi again @shortpixel,

I accurately checked all the points and I pass all of them:
I have a recent version of WP that can handle srcset; I deliver different thumbnail definitions in the right context also for featured images but PageSpeed keeps saying that for my images (almost all of them are from the homepage image slider) aren’t optimized.

The magic happens when I download and replace the ones from Google’s suggestion in the link at the bottom of the PageSpeed testing page. After the replacement Google stopped all image optimization complaints.

I think its clear that there’s something wrong in the ShortPixel optimizer that cannot deliver the exact optimization Google expected.

Please check my site and tell me if you see a coding problem with the images delivery because as I told you everything seems to be ok as far as I can see: https://goo.gl/n89e6z

    Hi,
could you please send me your API Key via our contact form
    http://shortpixel.com/contact

Also it would be helpful to have a page that GPSI still complains about so I can investigate it. I understand that the images on homepage (http://bisbatdeterrassa.org/) were already replaced with what Google suggests, right?

    Thanks,
    Alex

#modlook – could you please replace the .org URL above with its shortened (https://goo.gl/n89e6z) equivalent?
