    Hi team,

Love your Google review widget, however after updating WordPress, themes and plugins it is no longer displaying reviews on my client’s website.

I have disconnected and reconnected the Google account, but the issue still occurs.

For your reference, I have added “https://cdn.trustindex.io/loader.js” to LiteSpeed cache JS exclusion list and cleared ALL server and browser caches, to no avail.

In console, I notice the following error:

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html lang=en>
    <meta charset=utf-8>
    <meta name=viewport content="initial-scale=1, minimum-scale=1, width=device-width">

    Hi @lukekowald

    Thanks for reaching out!

Could you please confirm whether the following URL has been excluded from both the JS Deferred / Delayed Excludes and JS Excludes fields under LiteSpeed Cache → Page Optimization → Tuning?

    https://cdn.trustindex.io/loader.js

Even if it’s already excluded in the general JS Exclusion list, it’s important to ensure it’s also excluded specifically from any deferred or delayed JS loading to prevent conflicts with how the widget loads.

Let us know once you’ve checked this—happy to assist further!

    Best regards,
    Laca from Trustindex

    Hi @lacadev ,

    Thanks for your reply.

Confirming that the ‘https://cdn.trustindex.io/loader.js‘ file has been excluded from both JS Deferred / Delayed Excludes and JS Excludes fields within LiteSpeed Cache.

Issue persists after clearing all server and browser cache.

    Can you please advise.

    Kindly,

    Luke

    Hi @lukekowald

Thanks again for the detailed information and for confirming the exclusions.

We’ve investigated further, and based on similar cases, it appears that the issue is likely caused by a specific LiteSpeed Cache setting.

As a quick test, could you try disabling the LiteSpeed Cache plugin temporarily to see if the widget starts displaying again? This will help confirm whether LiteSpeed is indeed causing the conflict.

If the widget does appear after disabling the plugin, please try the following:

    1. Go to LiteSpeed Cache → Page Optimization → JS Settings.
    2. Disable the settings one by one (e.g., JS Combine, JS Minify, Load JS Deferred, etc.).
    3. After each change, clear the cache (both server and browser).
    4. Refresh your site and check if the widget appears.

This step-by-step approach will help pinpoint the exact setting that may be conflicting with the Trustindex widget.

Let us know how it goes—we’re here to help get this sorted for you!

    Hi @lacadev ,

Thanks for your reply and troubleshooting steps.

I’ve tried the LiteSpeed steps — turning off JS “Minify”, “Combine” and “Deferred” and clearing all server and browser cache — but the issue persists.

I can confirm that with the LiteSpeed plugin deactivated, the widget displays, so there is definitely some caching conflict going on that is at the bottom of this.

I look forward to any further suggestions you have, so that we can resolve this issue.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Hi Luke,

To further investigate the caching conflict, please go to LiteSpeed Cache → Toolbox → Import/Export tab → Export Settings and export your current configuration.

Then, send the exported file to support@trustindex.io with the subject line: WP support: Google Reviews Widget Not Displaying Data After WordPress Update – Error 400

This will allow us to reproduce your settings on our end and test the behavior more accurately.

Let’s continue any follow-up support here on the forum.

    Hi @lukekowald

We’ve identified a setting that might be preventing the widget from displaying correctly. Please try the following:

Navigate to LiteSpeed Cache → Page Optimization → Localize Resources and set this option to Off. This setting can interfere with the loading of external scripts.

We recommend keeping this setting turned off for now. If possible, we are planning to implement a native solution for this in an upcoming update of our plugin, and we’ll provide feedback once it’s ready.

Could you please check if this resolves the issue on your end?

    Best regards,

    (@lukekowald)

    Hi @lacadev ,

Thank you so much — the “Localise Resources” update in LiteSpeed plugin has indeed resolved the issue.

FYI, I commented out the three TrustIndex lines/files from the “Localisation Files” section, as below.

    https://cdn.trustindex.io/loader.js
    https://cdn.trustindex.io/assets/platform/Google/star/f.svg https://cdn.trustindex.io/assets/platform/Google/icon.svg

And the TrustIndex review widget now loads.

Please let me know when the native solution for this has been implemented, so that these can run as localised files.

And thank you once again for your exceptional assistance on this.

    Kindly,

    Luke

    Hi @lukekowald,

If you update to the latest version of the plugin, you can safely turn the Localize Resources setting back to ON in LiteSpeed Cache. Our plugin now natively creates an exception for this setting, so it won’t interfere with Google reviews being displayed.

Please note, our plugin currently requires access to external resources for proper functionality.
If you experience any further issues, feel free to let us know and we’ll be happy to help!

    Best,
