• I’ve had some hellacious problems getting this to work right. I’m getting constant 403 errors from Google when they try to grab the file. Oddly enough Google can get the main file without an error, but all the subsequent ones it chokes on with 403.

I initially had a problem with the main one being 403 as well, but I got around that. I also use iThemes Security Pro, and it seems it was causing the 403. I removed everything I cold think of, short of removing the plugin completely (including backing out all of the security parameters from .htaccess), and it didn’t seem to make a difference.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this? I’ve also contacted their support about it, but I figure it’s a good idea to ask for as much help as possible.

I do have the option in the plugin set to NOT use the built in robots.txt – and I have the main one manually configured in my robots.txt. I really hope I don’t have to add every single sub map to that, as I have a ton of them, and updating it dynamically for new stuff really isn’t an option.

    Tkx.

Strangely though if I submit the sub maps individually, it picks them up.

But sending them through the main sitemap rejects all the submaps as 403 Forbidden errors. Not sure what’s up with that.

I’ve sent in two of the sub maps, and those got indexed right. But if I try to submit the main map, all the sub maps get rejected with a 403 error. I can’t figure it out.

I also realized I forgot to leave this info on the original post..

WordPress is 4.4.2 with DB 35700 on PHP 5.4.16
    Plugin version: 4.0.8
    URL: http://www.black-sabbath.com
Server is running Apache. Forget what version offhand, can look up if needed.
Other Plugins: I’m running a lot of them, but the one probably most relevant is ‘WP Super Cache’
