Support » Theme: Preference Lite » Google Picasa Albums displaying wrong

  • Resolved marbak

first of all, thank you for a great looking theme, modern, modest and functional! This is fifth theme that I am trying and it is the simplest of all but offering more control over site/blog than others, I think, and as I said nicest look. 🙂

Please, I would like to keep this theme for one site I am working on, and problem is that widget for Google Picasa Albums is displaying gallery albums and albums pictures in one vertical row, not in one or more horizontal rows as it should be. You can see it on link that I provided. I tried it on several other themes and had no problem on them with that. Can you help me with this?
    Thanks in advance,

First, thanks for the great comment… as for your question, I’m assuming you are referring to the gallery at the bottom of that page from the link you provided? If so, when I viewed it, I saw 7 thumbnails, 4 on the first row and 2 on the second row (laid out horizontally). If you are still seeing vertical thumbnails, you may want to clear your browser cache.

Unfortunately it is not problem with cache. I tried that and I tried in several browsers and it is the same story. Problem with disposition of thumbnails of Picasa gallery albums appears only when I am using Preference lite theme. 🙁
So, I must use another theme for now and I didn’t want that.
If you have some other idea please write.

Is it possible to show a screenshot of what you are seeing and I will see how it’s related to the theme?

This is how it should be and how it is in every other theme but not in Preference. This is sreenshot of how it align in Preference theme.

Here, I will leave you my blog for now with your theme, just to let you see in action what am I talking about.

Quick fix for you with some custom css to try out:

    #nak-gpv img {

If you are using jetpack, use the “Edit CSS” feature to do the above, or a child theme (which this theme includes in the child-theme folder of it (installable). Otherwise, if you edit the main style.css file of the theme and you do an update, your modification will be lost.

Ok, so where exactly in “style.css” to put this css?
I will try now with main style.css and if it works I’ll make a child theme. I use this domen only for try out.

It works! Thanks! 🙂 I put it at the end of style.css

No need to make a child theme, Preference Lite has one in a folder named “child-theme” which has a zip file you can install. Best to use this if plan to make any theme file modifications. If you only plan to make CSS changes, and if you have jetpack installed, they have their Edit CSs on the Appearance menu that can be used instead….otherwise, if you add it to your main theme’s style.css directly, remember if you do an update to the theme, you will need to redo that bit of custom css again.

But, I’m glad that code worked for you 🙂

    I am glad too. 🙂
Thank you very much, for help and for info about child theme!
Now I’m gonna hold for Preference lite theme, it’s really an ellegant one.
You’re great support even this is lite version of your product.
