• I skimmed over Joost’s explanation of solely google choosing to re-write titles, with no correlation to wordpress seo, however I disagree based on feedback.

I have 25 sites currently. Of those 25: 23 are running All in One SEO and 2 are using WordPress SEO.

My very first site was made in Dec ’13 using yoast and the homepage title always gets re-written by google as “brand: title”. Also a few posts get a little screwy as well. They’re set as “%%title%%”, but half are coming up as “title – brand”.

I then proceeded to make 23 more sites using All in One SEO and have never run into this or any SERP title issue again, period.

Just this week I chose to use Yoast again for a new authority site I’m building.

Low and behold, my site indexes via google with homepage as “title – brand” (as I specified). However, 2 days later it changed to “brand: title”.

I am also getting one really weird scenario where a post is displayed as: “title – homepage title” (again weird where its drawing that homepage title from as its

      not

    my site title/brand).

My settings: post “title template” is set to “%%title%%”.
And page titles set to “%%title%% – %%sitename%%”. I have “force re-write titles” checked.

Based on this it seems to me there is definitely a correlation towards yoast plugin and google changing titles…unless I’m missing something.

If anyone knows how to fix this let me know.

Other than that the plugin is fantastic.
