Hi, in your news sitemap I see 12 articles. Keep in mind: the news sitemap only shows news from the last 48 hours. Older posts will disappear from the news sitemap but they should still be available in your regular XML sitemap.

With your “account settings” do you mean in Google Search Console or your Google Publisher Center?
In Publisher Center, you need to either submit RSS feed URLs or archive page URLs. The Google News sitemap is for submission in your Search Console.

The options Ping and Robots.txt are done by the plugin but the news sitemap submission in Google Search Console must be done manually.
