Support » Plugin: My Calendar » Google Maps Not Finding Map Location for Locations without GPS Coordinates

I loaded the Google Maps API key in the place provided in My Calendar. When I create a Location, Google Maps shows the map location if the GPS coordinates are entered, but not if only the address is shown. The tooltip on the GPS coordinates says that, “If you supply GPS coordinates for your location, they will be used in place of any other address information to provide your map link.” That appears to say that in the absence of GPS coordinates, the address will be used. That doesn’t happen. My Calendar fills in the GPS coordinates as 0.00000 0.00000, and the map shows a location in central France. I bought the User Manual to see if it had any information, but it was no help.

How can I get the map to show the address location without entering the GPS coordinates?

I’m not currently able to reproduce this issue; are you on the latest release of My Calendar?

Thanks for the prompt response. I just figured out the issue. I had the Google Maps API enabled, but had not enabled the Geocoding API.

Glad you got it figured out! That must be a new thing since I wrote this; at the time I wrote that feature, there was only one API required to enable it.
