Support » Plugins » Google Maps for Food Trucks

  • I am building a blog for the food trucks in my area. I am looking for a Google Maps widget or plugin that will work best for this application. The problem is that food trucks are in different locations on different days. Is there any widget or plugin that I can assign different icon markers for different days and locations, or do I need to make a new map every single day?

  • Anyone?

    Hi Kevin,

We have a store locator that lets you manually add and edit your locations as they happen. It’s not automatic, but it’s dead simple to change. Also, it’s built for mobile devices so people looking for your foodtruck can find your truck on a map without having to destroy their eyes on a desktop version of a map not built for a mobile screen. So; with 20 food trucks that set up in 2 places a day, I have to make changes 80 times a day (putting up and taking down each pin twice a day)? There’s GOT to be a better way!

It definitely would be a pain to adjust with 20 trucks.

We currently have a way to create a location that expires, so it will run from 12-1pm then expire. But it doesn’t repeat over the week. We could build the something to include days of the week, and it shouldn’t take too much development if you’re willing to work with us.

Happy to help if this makes sense! –

Can I create (like) 100 locations on Sunday that occur during the week (and expire)? It might be a work around until I get some advertising funds to pay you to create something.

Yes, you can bulk upload as many locations as you want with a .csv. There’s a simple template you can follow. The manual entry would work only for editing each location.

Can I create a pin on Sunday for Wednesday from 1-3pm?

Yep, you can create it for anytime and any date.
