As written before in different support threads, the Google Maps block goes sometimes blank when a Post block is on the same page or post.

This “going blank” is due to the browser sometimes adding <p> and </p> tags to the Google Maps block’s javascript and elsewhere.

It was difficult to capture the problem since not every Post block would cause this error and it took a long time to find a common pattern. But here it is:

As soon as the post linked in the post block has its own explicit excerpt, everything is fine and the error would never show.
But if the post’s excerpt is empty, WordPress tries obviously to generate an alternative excerpt from the content and here is where the shit happens: Depending on the content, this auto-generated excerpt causes sometimes the addition of these erroneous html tags as described above.

Will continue to investigate, but for the moment, a secure workaround seems to be to use only posts having a valid and explicit excerpt text for the post block.

Okay thanks for searching the root of the issue.

I’ve posted an issue several months ago about the excerpt causing issues and they didn’t fixed it. So it may be related.

i’ll try another approach to avoid this.

But it’s a freaking weird of a bug!

I’m currently unable to fix this with ease sadly.

You can avoid this by always setting an excerpt (with excerpt field or by adding a read more block in your content)

But i keep this in mind and will follow the evolution of Gutenberg to see if I can avoid this
