# Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError

 * Sorry, I’ve read your notice, but posting here, because loved your plugin, but
   don’t want to open a new account on somewhere other. And additionally, tried 
   your forum link, but it’s not working.
 * I’m having the following error and the plugin loads the map with an ash background
   with text: Oops! Something went wrong!
 * The console is saying:
 * > Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError [https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error)
 * As per as I know Google updated their JavaScripts API, and you need to provide
   a way to provide the API key, otherwise it won’t work.

   plugin too.
