Support » Fixing WordPress » Google map suddenly appears on all pages

  • I am a very new user of WordPress and must have done something stupid to the site. All of a sudden, an empty Google Map box with a single pointer is appearing in the top right of every web page on our site. How do I get rid of this?

Can you provide the URL to your site so people can take a look at it?

Can you list what version of WordPress you’re using, as well as what theme and what plugins you have installed?

Yep. It’s http://www.parenttalk.org.uk. Google map appears in top left of every screen. I’m using a fairly old version 3.5.1 but a bit worried about upgrading unless it messes anything else up. Many thanks for the interest.

From the source, it looks like it’s coming from a plugin called happy geo. Try disabling that plugin.

I can’t find any information on a plugin called that. If you don’t have one called happy geo, then please list what plugins you have installed.

It would be a good idea to keep your WordPress and plugins updated to the latest versions, just to keep it safer from hackers if nothing else.

Just make sure you back everything up first.
