Google Map Store Finder Feature Not Working

    Hi,

    I had to update my Google API key last week as the old one had expired. Since doing this the store finder feature on my map doesn’t appear to work properly. It shows up fine but never shows any results even if you enter the an address right next to location on the map. I think this was working fine before so I can only assume I haven’t activated a necessary API library? I have the directions API enabled so I’m not sure why it’s not working.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you for getting in touch, sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.

    Can you please confirm you have enabled the Places API and Geocoding API?

    Hi Perry,

    Thanks for the reply, I’ve just checked and I can confirm that both of those API libraries are enabled with this project.

    Any other ideas?

    We’re still seeing Geocoding Service: This API key is not authorized to use this service or API.

    Can you please confirm which API key you’ve enabled those libraries for?

    I can confirm that that key is definitely being used by the Geocoder, and that we are definitely seeing Geocoding Service: This API key is not authorized to use this service or API. when attempting to search an address.

    This message is quite unambiguous and we would only expect to see this if you haven’t enabled the Geocoding API for the key in question.

    Can you please firstly double check this is definitely the key you have enabled the Geocoding service for, and that the service is still enabled?

    If that is already the case can you please try creating a new API project and key?

    Hi Perry,

    Thanks for getting back to me, I can see now that you need to activate/select each API library for the generated key (I assumed they were all automatically selected). I’ve just done this and everything is working correctly now.
