google logging phantom pages on blog with 404 (4 posts)

    I'm a bit confused now. I had a brief beginning with b2evolution. It was too much messing around. So I changed to WordPress (<a href="http://toxicdrums.com/blog/">Toxic Drums</a>). I'm in the very early stages of learning how to do this but Google has logged hundreds of pages and I haven't made more than about 5. They seem to be 404 errors. Question: Is this something hanging over from b2evolution (which had a calendar which had this problem) or is it a known issue with WordPress? If it is a known issue with WordPress does someone know the simple solution because this cannot be how it is on most blogs. My email address can be found at <a href="http://www.toxicdrums.com/contact.htm">Contact me</a>. I would much appreciate any experienced comments thank you :o) (Sam)

    Weird - It says put code between backticks but that doesn't work. There's no way to preview the message so it's gone up now. I'll try a non backticked link like this (Sam)

    Oh well - so the backtick shouldn't be there but the http presumably should. I'll try again click here !

    google search:

    site:toxicdrums.com/blog/

    Page forward to where your WordPress blog starts returning 404's. Click on the cached pages for those url's and note the date last crawled, and the content. Judging by the content on your new blog, and the lack of styling in the cached pages, I would bet you are looking at url's for your old blog. (That is purely an unqualified statement, however).

    Here's one as an example. Clearly an old b2evolution page;
