  • Ok, I admit to being a hack. I know just enough to be dangerous to myself and others…. but I’m usually pretty good at following instructions/directions – or at least twisting them to fit my purposes.

Using Google Maps Javascript API V3 Articles as a jump off point, I created a small, localized map search form. It works great – outside of WP… even following the sometimes conflicting information on creating custom template pages (and custom headers to call the convoluted javascript), I can’t seem to get the beast to work.

The page where I’m banging on this is Snowville Map. The main problem is the map itself is not loading (which it does outside of WP). Viewing the page source of the generated WP page shows that all the code is there…

The necessary ‘support files’ (phpsqlsearch.php and search_dbinfo.php) reside within the theme folder at the same level as the custom page and header templates (header-withjs.php and map-index.php and map-page.php). Oh, and one of my search results for help with this started off with mentioning creating a custom page.php file and ended with having a custom index.php – hence the two “map-xxx.php” files.

I’s appreciate wiser heads than mine pointing me to where the problem may be originating from.

Oh, and I’ve tried some of the already created plugins… most are still using the older v2 API.

    Thanks,

    Judith
