  • What I can understand is that your permalink contains the exact keywords putting you at the top of the list.

    He did that by entitling the post, “WordPress Permalinks”.

    Hmm..Ok. I thought maybe the .html file helped and not just the title.

    Its just a name of the file which triggers one of so many wanys google ranks webpages

    While we’re at it, let me just say that MSN search (which sucks) likes me. For example, I’m the #5 result for a search of “recommended snes games”, the #5 result for “finding good friend”, and the #22 result for “latitude/longitude distance calculation”.

    yea i believe the reason google ranks me so highly is BECAUSE of wordpress’s permalinks oddly enough (thanks wordpress). having the title in the post instead of index.php?p=15313 or whatever greatly increases search engine optimization

    do you know of a way to change from a permalink with the post ID to the title but have all of our old posts be mirrored (hence use both) because we don’t want to loose out incoming links that have already been grabbed as posts with the ID
