    Hello,
i installed yoast for more then a month now. but still, my site’s home page meta description is showing auto generated one at google search.

other pages seems to be indexed properly. any idea what could be the reason for this case?

    thanks in advance.

thanks for your response. after going through all 4 section of the guide u provided, i found the problem is in Search Term Manipulation.
after searching with site:mysite.com i saw its showing me the meta description i have entered by yoast SEO but in real search its not showing it.

but i couldnt understand how to resolve it actually. how can i make google to show the the meta description have entered for my home page?

    thanks again.

Ultimately Google will, as you have seen, make the final decision on what they show in their search results. You may see a different meta description when the search term does not appear in your meta description. Google converts the meta description to include the user’s search term for optimal click through ratios. Google’s own Matt Cutts put together a great video that dissects how snippets work and how they pull from various parts of the page when they deem it necessary.

Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display the preferred description. The best advice I can provide, unfortunately, is to try different descriptions. This article provides advice on creating the right description for your site.
