  • hi,

    Thanks for the link.

    But that doesn’t work for what I want to do. It seems that is for quick removal of sensitive info. I just want to remove pages that shouldn’t be index from my dev site.

    same thing – imho, the already posted link is something that could help you;

    in any case it is a google problem – keep checking the google webmaster tools or ask at google forums;

    it is not caused by WordPress and there is nothing this WordPress forum can do to help.

    You can use the Yoast SEO plugin which provides better customization regarding indexing of website by search engines. There you can find an option to get your job done.

    The above links are all for what you want to do. Create a google webmasters account and it will allow you to remove link. I have had used it numerous times for similar purposes and happens within 48 hours usually.

    This didn’t seem to work. I am seeing more and more my dev site on search engines. How can i completely remove and stop search engines from indexing my dev site. note that my dev site is on a sub-directory of my live site.
