Just added this plug to a couple sites with no issues. Now I tried to add it to another, and when I submit the given URL of the sitemap file, Google reports:

Please enter a valid path to a sitemap in your site.

    The URL is correct.

Looked around for some solution, but didn’t see any.

Can you please be so gentle to show me the way to do it?

    So i can proceed?

    Thank you in advance,

It works perfectly now – some kind of caching issue with Google. I think.

To Irina: First, install this plugin to your WordPress site. When it is activated, it will automatically generate the sitemap file. It will show you the exact path to this file, and its name.

Then sign into your Google account. Go to Google Search Console, make sure your site is already shown there on the left column under Properties, otherwise create a new Property for it. Then just enter the sitemap URL for this Property as provided on WordPress previously, as described above.
