Google Earth interactive plugin

I recently came across a site with a interactive link to google earth. I am interested in doing something similar on http://www.tova.co.za but not sure how google earth works and where to start. I read something on KLM files but have no idea what people are talking about.

I currently use google maps but would like to have a interactive link, something similar to http://www.capecadogan.co.za/interactivemap.asp
