    Hello,

I am trying to use UpdraftPlus to create a backup to Google Drive and am coming up against:

Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive. (cURL error 7: Failed to connect to auth.updraftplus.com port 443: Connection refused) (http_request_failed)

    Log file snippet reads:

0140.446 (0) Cloud backup selection (1/1): googledrive with instance (1/1) (last)
0140.450 (0) Beginning dispatch of backup to remote (googledrive) (instance identifier **** )
0140.596 (0) ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (cURL error 7: Failed to connect to auth.updraftplus.com port 443: Connection refused) (http_request_failed)
0140.598 (0) An error condition has occurred for the first time during this job

I have tried following the solutions on this forum such as removing the backup, wiping settings and so on but am still coming with nothing. Do you have any ideas or anything I can provide to help come to a resolution for this?

    Many thanks,

    Fiavvek

  • Do I need to open any ports on my server for this to work? It seemed to briefly work better when I did this… (but still getting the fundamental issue at hand)

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

It appears that the authentication attempt is being blocked by our server security (The authentication has to be forwarded via our authorisation server).

Please could you enter your site’s IP address (available from your hosting control panel) into the following form:
    https://updraftplus.com/unblock-ip-address/

Done. Do I need to do anything else or should this work now?

It is still not working, unless you need to do something manually on your end…

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

Please could you send us a copy of the latest backup log?
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin, and post the link here.

I am a bit new to using pastebin. This is the closest I could get to using it as I have no interest in becoming a Pro member yet:

    https://pastebin.com/embed_js/6n0csFF9

I have cut a whole load of the backup data succeeding correctly. It creates the zipped file on the server ready to upload but then fails when trying to communicate with Google.

If you have any other ways of me sending the complete log file across, I will more than happily oblige!

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Are you still having issues connecting the site Google Drive? If yes, can you please send us again a copy of the backup log.

    Regards,
    Bryle
