  • Hi Allen,

There are several posts in the forum about this issue. There is some problem, but for almost everyone the fix is simple. In most cases if you deactivate and reactivate GDE, the problem is solved. Some have had to delete and install the plugin again. A couple people still can’t get it to work after doing that, but I don’t have any information yet about why. Waiting on some people to see if they can send me a log file of the problem.

Let me know which category you fall into. 🙂

Edit for clarification: GDE 2.5(.1) is indeed compatible with WordPress 3.5; there’s just a quirk that affects some users with the upgrade/activation.

    Hi Allen
I had problems with 2.5 profile but on deactivating & reactivating it solved it and I have now upgraded to WP 3.5 and GDE 2.5.1 on 2 sites and GDE works.

i deactivated and activated google doc embed. it works now but also have other problem. I do not want to show a download link where the file can be downloaded by viewer but it always shows the down link even when i “check no” in the show download link.

also i get just a blank screen and cannot see the file. in previous versions of google doc embeder i could click on the file and see the file without downloading.

here is the link to my page.

i just also learned if i open that page in firefox, i get one type of view.

if i open the page in internet explorer, i get another type of view.

I get the same view in both IE and Firefox, and both documents load properly. You’re very likely having browser cache issues.

I would have to see your settings and shortcode to know what is going on with the download link. Feel free to submit a support request where you can fill in this information from the Support tab, and describe your problem.
