Google Crops Blog Post Meta Description
There seems to be a surprising oversight in this plugin: Google will crop blog post meta descriptions if the date is given!
That’s because while 156 characters are theoretically available for the meta description, Google will display the publication date of a WordPress post if that’s been provided — robbing the meta description of 14 characters’ worth of space.
Seems like this plugin failed to account for that.
Meta descriptions for WordPress pages are just fine.
Our WordPress and plugin versions are at their latest.
Would be nice for a future update to factor all this into consideration!
Sorry if this topic’s been covered already but there’s no “search” function (not that that’s often helpful, as in the case of vBulletin forums for example) and we can’t wade through 133 pages of threads!
