google crawling issue

from last 2 weeks google is crawling the wrond adress of my website ……. i mean to say that i had set the permalink structure as “/%post name%/” but when i checked out in google webmaster and also using the plug in user online . google bot is always crawling “page not found” and the URL crawled by the google bot is /category/apple/%post name%” and due to this reason google crawl error exceed 2400 in just 1 week ….. google is crawling each of my article adding /category/apple/ in permalink …. now i deleted the category named apple but still i am having the same problem ……. it is badly effecting my ranking …. i feeling helpless … if anyone of you can help me solve this issue
