 * Hi,
 * We are confused with the status of the Google’s ReCAPTCHA keys.
 * Our Google captcha keys have now been migrated successfully to Google Cloud as
   Classic Keys. No issues with that.
 * My question would now be, if we won’t Upgrade those keys, and we’ll keep them
   as Classic Keys in Google Cloud, will it continue to work with Contact Form 7?
 * Is there a limit to the number of requests/assessments if we are to keep them
   as Classic Keys?
 * We’ve read somewhere that if we keep them as Classic Keys, it will continue to
   provide the same service as the old recaptcha platform, and will not have limits,
   and the 10,000 monthly limit will only apply if you upgrade them Google Cloud’s
   ReCAPTCHA.
 * Hope somebody can clarify this for us as the information we got from the internet
   is really confusing.
 * Thanks!

 * I’ve heard that Google will automatically migrate classic accounts to Google
   Cloud, so there is no choice to stay classic. Your API keys will forcibly be
   tied to a Google Cloud project.

 * [@takayukister](https://wordpress.org/support/users/takayukister/) – Thanks for
   your reply. May I ask, if the Google Cloud project already exceeded its 10,000
   quota, will Contact Form 7 form block messages from being sent, totally disabling
   the form? Or will the messages get sent without the captcha checks causing spams
   to get through?

 * In such cases, the reCAPTCHA API will return an error for an assessment request,
   and Contact Form 7 will treat the submission as spam and block the message.

 * [@takayukister](https://wordpress.org/support/users/takayukister/) – Thanks for
   your reply. But wouldn’t it be a better functionality that if reCAPTCHA API returns
   an error due to exceeded API requests, it should bypass that reCAPTCHA check
   and allow spams? And leave it to the discretion of the website admin to deal
   with spam due to unmanaged Google Cloud account?
 * I just find it extreme that the Contact Form 7 will be totally not usable on
   instances where reCAPTCHA limits being hit.
 * Would the plugin be able to identify that error and bypass the check instead?

 * I don’t agree. The plugin should only accept submissions that the spam filters
   explicitly flag as ham. If you are uncertain if you can manage reCAPTCHA correctly,
   try [Cloudflare Turnstile](https://contactform7.com/turnstile-integration/) instead.
