My slideshow (with “full right” thumbs – 2 columns) is displaying correctly in firefox and ie, but in Chrome it is displayed to the left of the main content area overlapping left sidebar. I have no idea how to fix. I assume the problem is with the image dimensions. When I turn off thumbnails the image is nicely centred, but when I try full left although the slideshow does not overlap the sidebar the slideshow overlaps the thumbs and only one column is visible. My content area is 700px and my gallery width 450. I have tried all different combinations which combine to be equal or less than 700px in total, to no avail. Additionally the last thumb is always smaller than the others!

Try to fit it within 650px and see, are you sure the image is overlapping the thumbnails? Or is it turning from 2 columns into one column? Sounds strange, would really help to see the site or at least see a screenshot (droplr, imgur).
