Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Google Calendar Sync Doesn’t Work?

  • Hi there,

Does Google Calendar sync/automatic updating work with The Events Calendar?

I can’t find good instructions on how to sync/integrate The Events Calendar and Google Calendar anywhere.

    Issue Details:

I’m a web developer working on a client site that has Avada Pro theme installed. The theme includes “The Events Calendar” plugin. I’m trying to integrate Google Calendar in the plugin but I can’t figure out how to do it. The client wants to be able to create events in Google Calendar and have them automatically populate The Events calendar on his WordPress website.

    Everything I’ve read points to

    1. Needeing a Pro version license, AND
    2. Paying for a subscription to Events Aggregator

    Is that correct?

If so, then my next question is: Does Google Calendar sync and integration even work with The Events Calendar anymore?

These 3 posts were all I was able to find about this issue:

In the first, @geoffbel advises the poster to visit the premium support forum, meaning no anwser was left to help those searching on this issue.

The second link addresses slow response and mentions Google Calendar — it seems promising, but then the the OP says ‘nevermind’ he’s just going to post in the premium support forum also.

Finally, the third link was most promising and it was only a year old. @courane01 works diligently with the OP over the course of several days during which he faithfully tries all she suggests, but to no avail. Ultimately, she tells him this:

“I believe this might be the extent of what we can do. I do so appreciate your patience as we tried to work through this. I believe it’s a bit of an endless loop on calendars.”

Am I reading this correctly to say that “The Events Calendar doesn’t work with Google Calendar anymore?

The client is willing to buy the PREMIUM version, but he needs to know if it’s even going to work before he makes that investment.

If my understanding is incorrect, please explain the steps to making Google Calendar sync with The Events Calendar without having to repeatedly download, export, or import ical or ics files multiple times.

The correct way to integrate the Events Calendar with Google Calendar is indeed with

Event Aggregator works with all versions of the Events Calendar (free and Pro).

I am not sure how somebody could say that it is not working anymore since I have been using that precise combination every day for the last couple of years πŸ™‚

    Best of luck!

    Thanks for the reply @geoffbel.

So, to clarify then, two-way-sync between Google Calendar and the Events Calendar does work, and the minimum cost to integrate Google Calendar with the Events Calendar is $89? Assuming a person is using The Events Calendar Free version, one still needs to subscribe at some paying level of Event Aggregator, as there is no free tier.

    Is that an accurate analysis?

    Hey there,

You are correct. Event Aggregator is a subscription service that we offer at $89 per year.

    Take care,
