I had someone tell me today that google treats seo on wordpress differently than html. That Google expects a wordpress site be updated more often than a html based site, is this true.

  • This is a very abstract situation here. All I can say is that most sites will need to work on their SEO to get the google rankings.

WordPress produces html. WordPress can also use URLs where the last part is .html (permalink settings), which may fool someone, but not Google, to think they are served static files, and which I think is what you mean by “html”.

No, I don’t believe Google cares what engine (or not) is behind a web page or site, as long as it has high technical quality and has unique, well-organized content.

Thanks, this came from someone trying to sell seo website management and I would assume they do not work with word press. The only point they were making is that it requires a more rigerous update and management of content to be current. Obviously the more recent the content the better.
