    I'm trying to track my site with Google analytics. I was given some code and a tracking code by google for this purpose but I don't know what to do with it.

    Here is how you can do this without using any plugins:

    From your WP dashboard, navigate to Appearance Editor.

    On the right side, find footer.php.

    Put your code right before the </body> tag and hit update. Thats it.

    Make sure to save a copy of your Footer.php in case something goes wrong, so you can simply replace it.

    Put this code in header.php file under <head> tag in your child theme or custom theme folder and it will take 24 hours to reflect on your Google analytic's dashboard.

    @Manavkumar
    while that works too, but if you care about your site's speed, you would want to put scripts in your footer.
