I’m using google analytics and want to know how I insert the script code into the WP blog section of my website. Is it easy? See http://www.kenacubed.com. Click on “Comment Forum.” The comment forum is WP. The rest of the website aside from the comment forum is static XHTML. I’m using WP to make the comment forum easy to manage, but google analytics isn’t tracking the hits on that forum because I don’t know how to insert the code.

I may have just figured it out. I’ll explain what I found. If it’s wrong, please correct me.

In the admin, click on “appearance,” and then on the drop down list click on “editor.”

On right hand side there will be “Theme files,” and “templates.” Click on “footer” template, and the php and html code comes up for the ending of each WP page that uses the template (which is all WP pages), the “ending” being just before the “body” closing tag, right where google analytics wants it.

    Click on “Update file.”

If the above is incorrect, please reply.

Yep, that’s where the google analytics code should code. There’s also a plugin for google analytics, but if you’ve got it working there’s no need for a plugin unless you want to track clicks to links.
