• I am trying to add the google analytics event tracking code to download links on my pages and posts, but wordpress keeps removing the code….

    I am confused, and all the plugins are about canned event tracking and dont help me do this simple task

    I resolved this one yesterday, Via an a fantastic plugin called WP Google Analytics Events

    To make the app pick up events and send them to analytics all you need to do is add class=”whatever” before the href in the link and after the a

    nice.. for others who stumble across this page, yoast’s google analytics plugin also allows this type of tracking.

    Are you referring to the Yoast “Google Analytics for WordPress”?

    That does not do what WP GA Events does, it only tracks file types, ot does not allow you to enter class=”tags” in what links you want to track,

    Unless you are talking about another Yoast analytics app?
