 * Hello, and Sorry for yet another post on Google Analytics problems, but I have
   been reading through and cannot locate exactly my proble.
 * I am using version 3.2.1 of WP with the theme Attention, and no plug-in for Google
   analytics. I posted our GA code into the section under Appearance>WP Theme Settings
   >Footer, where it specifically states to add in the tracking code there. Yet
   my GA account although saying that it is receiving data, has only reported one
   hit, which we have proof of a lot more than that!
 * Should I take out the tracking code from the footer, and instead insert it into
   the header.php file?
 * Thank you

 * It may take some time for [Google to show tracking data to you](http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/gaTrackingTroubleshooting.html),
   it’s not immediate. Also, does the footer appear on all pages?

 * Thank you for this. Does it usually take one week or more? To be honest I do
   not know if the footer is on every page, I assumed it was, how can I check?
 * When I check the view page staus on my browser the code does not show up in the
   html. So I have gone ahead and added the google code to the header.php file,
   will this do any harm?

 * Review the source code for the pages being indexed for this code and/or review
   theme options. Yes, it will take time to index the site and for results to appear
   in a search for your site. The one hit you saw was likely Google when you added
   the site in Webmaster Tools…If you have a very high traffic site, you can (nicely)
   ask Google to list it soon…they may or may not.

 * Oh, it should not…the script should be loaded in the head, with function calls
   in the body or footer, [I believe their are two parts to the code](http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55574)?

 * These articles were helpful, thanks. Also, now that I added the code into the
   header.php file it does show up when I view the page source. So I am hoping that
   it will show some data one of these days. You did answer my question regarding
   why it would show just one hit!
 * Thank you
