Good way to learn how to create themes?

    Hi guys –

I’ve been trying to learn WordPress theming for some time and can’t figure it out. The Codex is way too disorganized for me to learn it that way. I think I have an article that shows me something, but then random words in it are hyperlinked, so then I have to read all those and then come back… and in the end I still am not sure what I’m doing.

Is there a site or tutorial out there that’s more straightforward about how to create your own themes? More of a “one stop shop” or a single long article (as opposed to countless separate ones) to show someone the basics of this?

And I even know XHTML, CSS, and PHP, I just can’t figure out how on god’s green earth to actually use it properly to create a theme.
