• For one of my client websites, they’ve had both a standard primary horizontal menu taken care of by the UDesign theme, but also a small sidebar vertical menu. Previously, I used a different JQuery Vertical Menu plugin that hasn’t been kept updated for recent WP core versioning. I wanted the functionality going just a bit beyond a custom menu widget.

It would be great if the developer would add some basic styling options to the menu and not impose defaults. I managed to create my own, but not everyone has those coding skills.

I would recommend an option to select background color, border, text and additional options for hover and active states. Whether these would be an option on a settings page (not a standalone menu item on the admin) or just within the widget, I bet there are many who would be willing to elevate the rating.
