Good plugin but messes up with “Read More”

I hope they update this plugin. It’s a very good SEO plugin but it messes up with the “Read More” link in the functions.php file (WordPress 5.2.2). There are no links displayed with the excerpts, just plain un-clickable “Read More”: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/the_excerpt/
