I saw this as a perfect solution to how I wanted avatars to display–a simple letterbox unless one registered and uploaded their own avatar. My start was with the free version–soon upgraded to Pro via CodeCanyon. What a mess. Support was slow (three weeks to sort out issues) and the developers did not respond to what changes they made after I created admin and FTP accounts for them.

The troubles started with PHP 5.6 and WP 4.9.9. Now running upgraded to PHP 7.2.16 and WP 5.1.1. A boatload of errors and PHP notices–parameter issues, undefined offsets, property call issues, deprecated functions, etcetera. Deprecated things like mysql to mysqli were easy to fix by editing PHP files. But one should not have to fix any of this. Lot’s of spaghetti code–the developers need to rewrite a number of things and make it PHP 7.2-7.3 compliant.

Their slow support will likely ‘fix’ issues–but their secrecy about what they and need to have administrative and FTP accounts accomplish this makes anything non-reproducible. The support as stated earlier is slow–likely due to how buggy this turkey is. Additionally, I have a few issues with giving developers in foreign countries the access they ask for… There are far too many horror stories in creating such access.

I hope that they eventually get their act together. I have had to look for another solution for my replacement site. The cost of Pro is far too much for the problems that might occur.
