Being a plug-in developer I find myself constantly trying to read WP developer’s minds whenever I need to make WP do something. WP has a plethora of very useful functions that make my work considerably easier, but the function documentation is very unreachable.
Why not use the same approach as php.net, every function can be commented upon and thus get a better SEO. When I’m coding in PHP I don’t necessarily use the correct word for a certain function: “php array find” gives me “in_array” and “array_search” in Google, WP documentation on the other hand rarely does that and if I don’t search the exact function name I won’t find it…
WP functions really need examples, different/better ways to get things done and on the way maybe inspire people.
