Good for Large Site?

    I have 2000+ site – would it make sense to import all the pages, set them up in redirection, monitor the errors for awhile and then export the 301 code later and add it to .htaccess file? I am not as advanced as most of you and I am trying to figure this out. When I export the file it does not appear to be in the correct format of my .htaccess file however. Mine looks like this: RewriteRule ^belleair-subdivisions.php belleair-subdivisions/ [R=301,L].
