Good compression but stalls site

I have tested this plugin for the past month and found it to be working BUT…

When a single image is chosen to be compressed it causes the entire site to stall. This eventually leads to a 522 error while the image is being compressed in the cloud. When several images are selected to be bulk optimized I get: “Temporary failure, seconds left to retry…”

I contacted my hosting provider about the issue and they say that it is due to the long waiting time between the WordPress plugin and the EWWW cloud. I also contacted EWWW support but no solution was found to the problem.

I will continue to use it until my credits have been used and then I will use an alternative image compression tool.
