Google translate is awful, especially with French but here goes.

Another “shareware” version of a theme.
It is very complete, but as soon as we try to refine, the options become paid with annual SUBSCRIPTION and more …

I’m only looking for 100% free themes.
Wordpress is a free and free template.
Unbearable to make money on free.

I’m afraid you’re mistaken. All themes, including this one and the ones you’ve also left reviews for are 100% free. You can do anything you like with the code and make any changes.

Your complaint is not about “freedom” but the fact that some theme authors have additional features via their own site for sale. That’s fine and your 1 star reviews will remain.

But people do read these reviews and will make up their own minds. You are not complaining about the features, you just do not like this upsell model.

I know, but i boycott shareware plugin and themes.
WordPress is a free template, and i don’t want to pay for a “patch” for a free template.
If i had to pay, i’ll pay a webmaster for an entire website.

I’m always looking for entire Free extensions, i help theim for translation and communication.

    Thx for reply.

    OpenSource Rulez.

Reminder: your 1 star will stay but you’re really being contradictory. To quote one of my favorite movie characters:

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

You really can’t say “OpenSource Rulez” while protesting opensource. That just doesn’t make sense.

I know, but i boycott shareware plugin and themes.

Then you are Doing It Wrong™ and just are not understanding.

    https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/selling.en.html

There is zero “shareware” on this site. If there is a theme or plugin that is breaking the rules for hosting code here, then please share that. If it’s true then it will get addressed.

The code here is 100% free. The code that you pay for from the author’s is also 100% free but you need to purchase it to get it.

    https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html

It’s fine for you to not like that upsell but you really need to understand that you’re protesting a GNU model. GNU and opensource explicitly permit authors to sell their work.

Once the user has that work, as long as they comply with the license, they can do anything they want with that code.

    Ok for open-source. Of course.
    Wrong copy/pasted.

But not ok for bought plugin and themes.
Or perhaps 1 or 2 very specific, or for commercial use only…

But here, 99% of the WP themes are not free 100%… Always a limitation…

    I don’t like this.
Always a “Pro” version… Like a shareware software…. You can use it… you can keep it, but if you want more, you need to pay…

You are talking about GNU licence… What about Linux Distributions ?
Is Ubuntu is limited only for buyers ?

What about phpBB ? What about the majority of phpBB mod and themes ?
    Limited also ?

    I dont think so…

This is for me like spam… the finality is to force the user to paid…

Virtue FREE is free. It’s missing features in Pro and Premium (see http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/premium-vs-free-features-list/ )

Does that make it shareware? No, but English is a stupid language, and I understand the confusion. It means there’s a free version and a pay for version. The subscription is for getting updates to the code, which is a service, and again, it’s very confusing even to English speakers. Jan’s gotten tripped up about services before too 🙂

Is the user forced to pay? If they want the extra stuff, yeah. And being annoyed that there’s all this good stuff and you have to pay for it is absolutely legit.

I wouldn’t say it’s worth 1-star unless the free version is totally unusable or worthless without the extras, but it’s your review of your experience, not mine 🙂

However it’s not shareware. Shareware would be if you downloaded the free version and then, after a month, had to pay to keep using it. This is all up-front, pay to get started.

Thanks @matevoun for trying it out. Sorry, you didn’t like that we offer a premium version of the theme. Hope you find a theme you like!

    Ben
