Support » Plugin: The Holiday Calendar » Good, but it stopedworking for us, so we have to find a new one.

  • We have used the plugin for a long time now, and it worked for us. We only had the problem With that old events showed up in the event list, but that was solved fast by the plugin owner.
    Unfortunately we will have to replace it now, because after the last update of several plugins our site broke down, and we deactivated the newley updated plugins and reactivated them one by one. The Holiday calender plugin refuse to be reactivated, so we have now lost all our events and have to start all over again with a new plugin. The support of this plugin is not working, so when we cant solve the problem ourselves, we just have to make a replacement instead.
    We could have given 5 stars, but due to the lack of support, we ended up With 3.

    The events are not lost, they should be still in the database.

    I’m not sure if you are still working on fixing the error. I got a white screen after the last update and a parsing error when I tried to activate the plugin again.
    I fixed the problem by changing line 14 in ‘the-holiday-calendar/admin/widget-form.class.php’ to
    $countries = $files = array();

    Fixed it. The cause was an older PHP version.

    Sorry, but it is too late for us. I had to delete the plugin to add a new one, since the Holiday plugin blocked the installation of the new one. And now all the events are gone as far as I can see. I have found some of them on google search, and if I click on the buffered version I get the event, so I at least can copy the text to make a new one. If I click on the link to an old event I have posted on FB, the link is broken, so only the buffered version work. Strange though, but for us it ended with a lot of work.
