• It’s make the job in a very (to much ?) simple way. The code [mfn_list class=modern-footnotes-list] is very usefull to print the footnote list wherever we want !!! also the compatibility with old editor is very appreciate. But the plugin is incomplete.

There is nothing to make note link with the list at bottom when clicking and nothing to go back in text after having read the note. Toolitip is very nice, but read in bottom and come back after is a very basic function of footnotes and it is not in the plugin. Some people asked for the functionality on the forum but get no answer.

Also, but it’s a detail, it is sad that the plugin hasn’t got any compatibility with the other plugin simple spoilers, for example, those code won’t work :
[spoiler title="Print the spoilers"] at the end of Star Wars[mfn]Georges Lucas, Star Wars, Lucasfilms LTD, 2002[/mfn]anakin returns [/spoilers]

    :/ If you’ve got some solutions i’m listening…

    Hi @andorel ,

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve noted that there’s incompatibility with the Simple Spoilers plugin, and as you mentioned, having the footnote list link back to the original location in the article is a frequently requested feature so I’ve bumped the priority up for that in the feature backlog.

Just to clarify, by There is nothing to make note link with the list at bottom when clicking , do you mean having a footnote link scroll down to the footnote list when clicking it rather than opening a footnote?

    Best,
    Sean

    Thanks for answer !
Nice for the news ! i will wait for the update =) it will be a very good plugin after that.

For the question, yes, i think the good way is :
    – hover : show the tooltip/window with the note in.
    – click : scroll down to the footnote list at the good one. (with a possibility to go back up in the text)

An alternative way i think is also to make a button-link to bottom IN the tooltip/window that open when hover or click. (if some people ask that why not let them that choice but i think the first way is better)
(sorry for my english, i’m french…)
