    I have been using Statcounter for years now and it's still a good tool. I stopped relying on the count itself though. It's based on a cookie: if a user has cookies disabled (and many do) each page load is counted as a unique visitor :-( Still great for a quick look at visitor paths, browsers use etc. I

    Yes, since summary stats are based on cookies, such behavior is expected if visitor's have cookies disabled. However cookies are very basic and are needed even for logging into popular social networking websites and web based applications and hence visitors having cookies disabled are in small numbers.
