• It’s a very good plugin… when it works. It will not work at all, unless your blog is getting visited. If your blog is new or private with only occasional visits, it will not work.

    Hi Mike,

It’s very harsh to one-star us for one of the properties of the WordPress scheduler system. It’s WordPress’s scheduler that kicks off backup jobs; if WordPress is never run (i.e. your site is not visited), then WordPress doesn’t kick off scheduled tasks. That’s not the plugin’s fault. *All* plugins that used scheduled tasks will have this issue.

The documentation gives 5 different ways of working around that:
    http://updraftplus.com/faqs/why-am-i-getting-warnings-about-my-site-not-having-enough-visitors/

    Best wishes,
    David

On the contrary, Mike, if your site gets any kind of traffic (or you implement the suggested workarounds mentioned by David) it works AMAZINGLY.

I hope you give it another try.. (heh.. no.. I don’t know the author.. )

And what is the point on backing up a non visited blog?
