• I’m rating the free version. It took two days of refreshing the compressor every once in a while to compress my site’s 13k images. It did about 20% compression on my image files, which saves space and quickens load time as promised. My Yslow rating went from 0 (no compression) to 62. Much improved, but still a ‘D’. The paid version says it does an even better job.

  • Thank you for taking the time to rate Smush and I am glad we could help save you some space and speed up your site a bit. If you are still getting a message about images not being optimized this can also be caused by using images that are not sized for the container they are displaying in. Smush allows you to compress and set a max width and height but does not scale images to fit a specific container. There may be a way to do this using a third party plugin but the only sure way to ensure images are properly scaled for your site and to get the optimize images message to go away is cropping and scaling each image through a photo editor. I hope that helps!
