Support » Fixing WordPress » Golden Can Script on WordPress 2?

  • I use Goldencan on my coupon blog, which uses a javascript to advertise sales. It worked on 1.5, but not 2.0

This is what the script looks like:
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://si.goldencan.com/coupons/display.aspx?SID=8806e814-3511-4d60-bfcd-0fa19c1dec27"></script>

    Help?

  • What’s it doing? Or not? What errors are you getting?

Also, is this being added to a template, or into a post’s content?

It’s being added into a post. Well, the ads are all there still from before I upgraged wordpress… until I try to edit the post, with anything, then they disappear. It seems like wordpress is changing the code for the ad whenever I edit it, then the ad doesn’t show up anymore.

Ah ha! Disable the rich text editor. If you want to use it making normal posts, then just disable it while you post using the javascript.

OK then here’s my second problem! When I uncheck the rich text editor in admin, then click “update options,” then I get a 404 error, and it doesn’t get changed. Help?

What happens if you uncheck the one in user profile page instead?

Well now, it’s always the simple things I miss. Thank you vkaryl! I didn’t even know that was there!

I *hope* that means it’s working! Things are only good if they work, y’know…. (besides, that’s a really dumb place to put it – can you say “practically invisible”?)
