 * Hi!
    I’ve been trying to install wordpress for two days straight. Yesterday,
   I made some progress by accessing the admin panel and designing the website.
   But as for the public domain, all it said was “apache test” and that something
   was wrong. Looking at multiple tutorials, reading loads of forums it made sense
   to “uninstall” wordpress, and start from scratch!
 * But the problem now is that i can’t seem to find the public_html folder to put
   wp in. I’m using web10 as host and they had the “easy-install” help to install
   wp, but i cant access that either. It doesn’t say anything, so i’m stuck with
   the manual installation. But as I said, my public_html folder is completely gone
   and I don’t know what to do from here. Any brainiacs out there who knows what
   a newbie like me could do to make it work?

 * Your hosting providers will be able to either guide you to the place where your
   public_html directory is, or add it back in if it has been removed.

 * How do i add it in?
    I followed a tutorial which said to make a new one but couldn’t
   make sense of the ssh.

 * You don’t want to be doing this stuff yourself, it’s much safer and easier if
   the hosting providers handle it.

 * Once your server has been set up correctly, we can help you install it if you
   need support with that. I don’t know the answer to your problem, but this is
   less of a WordPress issue and you might not receive the answer here.

 * So, i’ve managed to find out that i have a folder in my root called domain-url.
   com and have the same numerical value as the public_html has. My hosting website
   claims that THAT is the public_html folder.
 * I’ve now uploaded wp into that folder. I’ve changed my wp-config so it matches
   my database info. But when i go into [http://domain-url/wp-admin/install.php](http://domain-url/wp-admin/install.php)
   it says that it’s something wrong with my wp-config file. But i don’t know what
   the problem is. Any thoughts?

 * What is the full message, or is it just “something went wrong”?

 * On the domain-url.com:
 * An error occurred while connecting to the database
 * On the /wp-admin/install.php:
 * An error occurred while connecting to the database
    This means that the username
   and password in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can not connect to
   the database server at localhost . This could mean that your online hotel database
   server is offline.
 * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure you entered
   the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running? If you
   are unsure what these terms mean you should contact your host. If you still need
   help you can visit the WordPress Support Forums

 * Where were you originally looking for your database info?

 * on my host site.
 * I think i solved it, seems that i had to change the localhost in wp-config even
   though my host provider said it _shouldn’t_ be changed. 🙂

 * well localhost should always be local host unless you do something to need it
   to be different. If its not local host may i ask what it is?
