GoDaddy Issues

I’ve had success using your Code Embed plugin along with the Avada template. But it seems like GoDaddy WordPress hosting may be blocking it. Is this a known issue or maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I’m trying to add an embedded Google Map.
1) I open a “Portfolio” item
2) I create a new custom field named “CODEMAP”
3) I paste the embed code and click “Add Custom Field”
4) I go to the Contact Us page and create a “Code Block” with: %CODEMAP% and update
The page only shows the text %CODEMAP%, no embedded Google Map.

Again, I’ve had success with Avada on other services, it’s GoDaddy that seems to be blocking it.

Is there a fix or a work-around?

Hi @brandyqk,

I’ve not heard of anything and as I don’t have any hosting with GoDaddy this will be a hard one to confirm.

What I’ve not done is test whether it works on portfolios. Can you try adding it to a page instead, just as a test, and see if it works there?

Unfortunately, when using Avada, the only place you can add a custom field is the portfolio. The meta box does not show up anywhere else.

The Avada theme, do you mean? It shouldn’t block custom fields. If you click on “Screen Options” in the top-right of the post editing screen, is it not an option there?

And if you click on the ‘Screen Options’ tab at the top is ‘Custom fields’ one of the options?

That brought it up! But it’s still showing %CODEMAP% on the page.

I’m not sure what the ‘Code Block’ is – the plugin only works on the main post content.

It is the main content. “Code Block” is where you place HTML.

Still shows %CODEMAP%

Ok, that’s not a standard part of WordPress.

My plugin only supports using the standard post editor – using the ‘Code Block’ simply won’t work.
